Lise Watier Perfecting Foundation Brush

I needed a foundation brush for quite some time, but was reluctant to try the Quo brand of brushes, even though they are the only brush you see while you're in Shopper's Drug Mart. They don't have a good reputation, apparently shedding unnecessarily. I don't have a car and there aren't really many other options other than Shopper's (we don't have a Mac or Sephora in Guelph). 

Shopper's Drug Mart does have other options though, they're just hidden away a bit more. The other options I was given were by Lise Watier and Urban Decay. And these brushes are of a higher quality for equal to or less than the cost of the Quo brushes. So I chose the Lise Watier foundation brush to start out with.

And I love it so much. It's soft and smooth and blends exactly how I want it to. I've encountered no shedding, and it's easy to clean. It doesn't take a huge amount of the product either, so it's not saturated and wasting product. I can even dab concealer on it and use it to blend that

I feel like all brushes are overpriced really, but if I'm going to pay a lot I want the quality to be good, and I feel like this one is. I find it especially worth it to not have to use my fingers to blend in product, as I was doing before, since I feel that doesn't really help my skin to be putting my fingers all over it. It's probably psychological but I can't shake the feeling!

Lise Watier Base Miracle Pore Minimizing Primer

I was excited to try this because of the name attached to it. But I was a little disappointed. It's a clear textured gel that goes on smooth. I do find it dries my skin a bit, maybe because it's supposed to give a matte finish (which it does). 

And as a pore minimizer it comes up a bit lacking. My main trouble spot where my pores show through is on my cheeks closest to my nose. No matter how much I use, it doesn't seem to completely fill them in. This isn't a problem for light or light/medium coverage foundations, but the heavier the foundation, the more my pores become visible. (I was worried at one point that my pores would forever show under my more serious foundations, but I have since found a few that make them disappear!)

As a primer to set foundation, I find it works great. My foundation stays on through the entire day, and only after the end of my work day do my trouble spots start to show through. So a plus for that. 

It's basically great for everyday use under a light or medium coverage foundation. I just feel like if you're going to spend $40 CAD on an everyday use primer, you may as well get one that works on the heavy duty nights as well. I can see it being well worth it for those without pore problems, but that is what this product is saying it can fix. 

Lise Watier Vent du Sud Fragrance

I was given this as a sample from Shopper's Drug Mart and I just love it! It's a little bit heavy but I like that about it. I also really like that it's both fresh and sweet. And not fruit sweet but vanilla sweet. The one downfall was that it only lasted a few of hours before fading away.

Unfortunately when I was applying it the second day of trying it out I spilled the rest of my sample! My tablecloth smells amazing but I'm still sad!
