Lise Watier Vent du Sud Fragrance

I was given this as a sample from Shopper's Drug Mart and I just love it! It's a little bit heavy but I like that about it. I also really like that it's both fresh and sweet. And not fruit sweet but vanilla sweet. The one downfall was that it only lasted a few of hours before fading away.

Unfortunately when I was applying it the second day of trying it out I spilled the rest of my sample! My tablecloth smells amazing but I'm still sad!

Fall Revlon Nail Colours

These are two colours I've been using a lot for the Fall season! And of course the reds from Revlon are always amazing.

The first is 650 Saucy, and this is a warm red with gorgeous gold shimmer throughout. It just makes me think of the leaves turning colour!

And the 680 Revlon Red is just awesome. It's bright and warm and doesn't have any shimmer or sparkle, just gloss! It's like freshly washed apples - or holly if you're starting to think ahead to Christmas!

Sunday Shoe Day! F24 Platform Pump

These are such a pretty pair of shoes. I believe I got them at a second hand store for $2 and they've been well worth it.

Although they scrunch my foot up a bit when I stand in them for too long, they're great for short distances and events where there's a lot of sitting. I love the roundness of the front and the fineness of the spiked heel. Of course my favourite part is all the lace!

Maybelline Superstay Better Skin foundation

I picked this up the other day because it seemed to be getting some good reviews. And I thought it was basically going to be a Maybelline version of the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation (even the packaging looks strangely similar). It ended up giving me some pleasant surprises though.

The main thing is that I just love how this foundation applies! It goes on super smooth and blends in almost at once. And it makes my skin feel smooth too, which is cool. It has a light/medium coverage that is definitely buildable.

It has more of a matte finish to it and it's wear time is quite good. It usually lasts me throughout my workday (6 or 7 hours) before it starts coming off on the oily areas of my face.

If I were to compare it to the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, I would say that this goes on smoother and blends in much easier. On the other hand, the Maybelline is more matte and doesn't give the same shine or glow as the Rimmel foundation does (which I like about the Rimmel). Wear time is also better, and there's definitely more colour options with the Maybelline Superstay. Not quite sure if I'll be switching over though!

Biotherm Biosource Toning Lotion and Pure-fect Skin Cleanser

Starting off with the Biosource Instant Hydration Toning Lotion, I have nothing but good things to say about this! You don't need a lot to cover the face and hydrate it. And it does hydrate so well! I like it better than a moisturizer, which leaves my face feeling oily and tends to make it break out. My skin feels clean, refreshed, and not weighed down by more product. I tend to use it the most after I use an astringent toner, which dries out my face while removing oil, and it never causes any stinging or burning.

I do not get along as well with the Pure-fect Anti-shine Purifying Cleansing Gel. I think that it's cool that it is supposed to have anti-bacterial properties, but my skin tends to break out more when I'm using it. And it leaves my skin feeling shiny and a bit raw. It also tends to cause a bit of burning, which may be the anti-bacterial properties. For some reason it seems to take a lot of product to get me skin clean too. And to top it off, it has a perfumed scent that I am not down with in my makeup. It seems like it would be good for tougher, less sensitive skin, and maybe more oily skin types.

Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner

My usual go to eyeliner is L'Oréal Paris infallible and when that ran out the last time I thought I would try something new. The Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer is built the same way, with an extendable and retractable tip and a smudger on the opposite end. It goes on very smoothly which is nice. And the pigment is good too.

The main problem is that it has a very short wear time. Any type of oil or water seems to move it. I usually use this type of eyeliner to tightline my eyes but I tried this on the eyelid as well (with setting powder) to see if it would work better further from the eye. Unfortunately it didn't take long before it was up in the crease.

It might work better for people who have drier skin around the eye, since I do find I get a bit more oil on my eyelids as the day progresses. I also found the smudger just seemed to erase the eyeliner from my skin, which was disappointing.

Smashbox Eyeshadow in Oyster

This is one of the things that I use almost every single day (hence the rough shape of the package!). It's this very subtle shimmery yellow-gold that I use for so many things. I usually end up putting it on as a base shadow on my eyes, working it right up to the brow for a nice highlight. It's also good for an inner eye highlight. Or a cheek bone highlighter. Basically it's a really good highlighter!

It's actually a pressed powder, but mine's been dropped!

It goes on evenly and it stays put. It doesn't seem to crease that much, which is something I have a lot of problems with. And it's definitely still there at the end of the day when the rest of my makeup has gone.
